Track Biography:
Dawstown point-to-point is traditionally held on the Monday of the May long weekend. We run the event with the kind permission of the Muskerry Hunt,and the land owners Mr John Lynch.
The present location in Birch Hill has been our home for last 15 Years. Prior to this we were situated in Dawstown for approximately 12 years. Our point-to-point has been held every year without fail with over 25 Years.
There has been many horses that have ran in Dawstown over the years. Second in thia years Irish National, Isleofhopeanddreams was second at Dawstown on debut when under the care of Roisin Hickey. Shanahans Turn's kicked off his career with a win as a five-year-old in 2013 and has seen gone on to win the 2015
A day out at Dawstown point-to-point is a perfect excuse to get out into the Irish countryside. Our race track is easily accessible with a 1 way system in operation before and during the race meeting.
We are situated just of the M20 Motorway, situated between Blarney and Grenagh.
We attract runners from all over the East Coast in addition to the South and from the West and Mid West.
Experienced horse men and jockeys would rate our track as a very good race track with a good finishing straight.

How To Get There

By Road
From Mallow/Limerick - Travel on N20, follow directional signs at Rathduff, and turn off to right.
From Cork City/Waterford/Wexford/Dublin - travel on N20, turn off to left at Waterloo Junction, and follow directional signs to race field.
There will be signposts for the track also.
By Air
We are situated approximately 30 minutes from Cork Airport.
One of the real attractions of point-to-point racing is the opportunity to get up close and personal with future stars of Irish horse racing in a relaxed and family friendly environment.
We provide Big Screen facilities, with seating for those who wish not to go to the finish line.
The extensive free parking provides an ideal spot to enjoy a picnic while you enjoy the racing with a brilliant view of the whole track meaning you are never too far from the action.
Disabled parking and toilets are provided at the track which allows all race goers to enjoy their days racing.
In our bookmakers ring you can view and bet on any off-course races on the day in both England and Ireland.
Our outside food caterers supply a variety of tasty hot foods such as burgers, sausages and chips.
If you would like to satisfy your sweet tooth we have a sweet and chocolate stand that sells a selection of delicious goodies.
Alternatively, why not come along early and enjoy a picnic before the action gets under way or take a break midway through the day to refuel from the boot of your car.
Our extensive car park is the perfect location to relish the atmosphere of the races whilst entertaining friends and family.
Race goers can purchase teas, coffees, juices and soft drinks from our catering provider.
Our location is visually very attractive and you can see for miles in all directions.
In addition to a number of bookies available to take bets for the races on track they are als o able to take bets for Irish and or UK races.
We provide Big Screen facilities, with seating for those who wish not to go to the finish line.
We have a secure area for children where free of charge they can enjoy bouncy castles, climbing walls and numerous other free event.
