The Waterford Foxhounds annual point-to-point fixture is ran on the grounds of the beautiful Curraghmore Estate in Portlaw.

Curraghmore House is the historic home of the 9th Marquis of Waterford. Some 2,500 acres of formal gardens, woodland and grazing fields make this the largest private demense in Ireland and one of the finest places to visit.

Their annual fixture is traditionally held during Easter but since 2020 they now also have an Autumn fixture which takes place in October.

How To Get There

By Road

From Dungarvan - take N25 towards Waterford. Approx 2 km after exit for Kilmacthomas, turn left onto the L305. Continue straight on for 6 km. At Y junction, bear right and follow straight on to Ballyquin Cross. Turn right into Curraghmore Estate.

From Waterford / Wexford - Don’t go for Portlaw!!!! Take N25 from toll bridge or R680 from Waterford city towards Dungarvan. At Portlaw/Carrick roundabout, take the N25 towards Dungarvan. Don’t go for Portlaw. Continue on for 12 km. Turn right onto the L3055. Continue straight on for 6 km. At Y junction, bear right and follow straight on to Ballyquin Cross. Turn right into Curraghmore Estate.

From Carrick–on-Suir – head for Dungarvan on the R676. Take left turn onto Kilmacthomas road to Ballyquin Cross. Turn left into Curraghmore Estate.

We provide free parking for all patrons attending the races. Accommodations can be made for disabled parking, please just notify a parking attendee on arrival.

There is a betting ring located close to the parade ring, allowing racegoers to throw an eye over the runners before decided on what horse warrants a wager. Off-course betting on Irish and UK race meetings is available.

Toilet facilities are situated around the track.

One of the real joys  about a point-to-point is just how cliose to theaction you can get. That also includes our car park, ensuring that a day's racing with us offers you the ideal opportuinty to bring a picnic for family and friends, base it out of the back of your car ... and relax.

 If you would prefer to leave the work up to someone else, why not check out our onsite food providers. Offering a range of fast food including burgers, chips and sausages there will sure to be something for everyone.

No, we do not have a specific dress code for our point-to-point. We would suggest to dress appropiately for the fickle Irish weather.
Yes,we welcome dogs at our event, just please ensure to keep them on a lead at all time.

We are lucky to have wide open spaces for kids to play in a safe enviroment.
No, we do not have an ATM on course.

Curraghmore House is one of Irelands most historic and beautiful private dwellings. A wonderful day spent at the Curraghmore point-to-point will have something for the whole family.

As our Spring fixture is held over the Easter holidays, our point-to-point offers the perfect location for a weekend away with the family. We are located half an hour drive from Waterford city, which makes it extremely accessible for visitors to combine a city break with a day out in the countryside.
