Track Biography:
The Tipperary foxhounds are one of the oldest packs in Ireland, dating back to 1820. The pack was formed by The Bartons who reside in Grove, which is only two minutes from the point-to-point.
The Tipperary foxhounds hold two point-to-points each year on the same popular and well-appointed track in the spring and in the autumn. The track is on undulating land and can be used both right and left handed, with an extension added in 2020.
Entries traditionally are large at the popular track, giving a great day of sport with divided races. Many winners at the track have gone on to make great names for themselves including Cheltenham foxhunter winners On The Fringe and Salsify.

How To Get There
By Road
From Dublin – Take the M7 from the city and follow the road until you see signs for the M8. Turn off the M8 at Cashel and follow signs for Fethard. Three miles before Fethard you will see signs for the point-to-point.
From Clonmel - Take the R689 north until you see signs for the track.
By Air
Our point-to-point is located an hour and a half from Cork airport and two hours from Dublin airport.

We have free parking for spectators and sections that can be used to facilitate disabled parking with clear views of the track.
In our bookmakers ring you can view and bet on any off-course races on the day in both England and Ireland.

Our outside food caterers are located beside the parade ring and bookies and they sell an array of hot food options such as burgers, chips, sausages and chicken goujons.
Also if you would like a treat during your days racing we have a sweet stall in attendance.
All patrons are welcome to pack a picnic style lunch to enjoy during the races.

Race goers can purchase teas, coffees and soft drinks from our outside catering outlet.
No, we do not have an official dress code however we advise our racegoers to dress up for the weather so that the day can be enjoyed to the full. In the autumn it may be windy and wet under foot, conversely it could be a lovely sunny crispy day. In the spring the weather can be variable also.
Dogs are very welcome, but need to be kept on a lead at all times.
Yes, we welcome visitors to bring their own picnics or refreshments.
The dog show and terrier racing are some of the entertainments which are provided for the kids and everyone is very welcome to bring their own dogs, including terriers for the racing.
No we do not provide an ATM so we recommend that you make a stop in the nearby town of Clonmel which is only three miles from the point-to-point.

Both of our meetings are held on bank holidays which is a great day out for all the family over the holiday weekend.
We have an abundance of attractions for everyone including a dog show, terrier racing and a side saddle race.
Our parking offers great viewing of the track in this picturesque area of Co.Tipperary which is surrounded by Slieve na Mon and The Comeragh Mountains.
Two of the fences as well as the finish are located beside the best viewing areas so race goers can get up close to the action.
Also as an added bonus for parents all children U16 have free admission.

VAMDEMERE made his debut in a very competitive contest at Borris House earlier in the month, and he offered a great deal of promise when finishing third, having only been beaten by five lengths. He could be the one to beat if lining up here. Stable companion Firak finished second in a small field contest at Ballyarthur, whilst of the others with form, Bloodstone stayed on to take second on his debut at Knockanard. The market will give the best guide as to what to expect from the many newcomers.

BRIEF AMBITION looked the likely winner on his debut at Punchestown, only to fluff the last and give away his chance to come home in front. He could gain compensation here. Ashfield Paddy was not aided by a bad mistake at the second-last when making his debut in a big field maiden at Lingstown, however he still managed to finish a fine third. Stable confidence will also be high following a winner at Durrow last weekend. Poncherello disappointed at Turtulla but may bounce back returning to the course that he finished second at on debut, whilst Ask politely, Epalo De La Thinte, and Whos In The Box are among a number of other horses to have shown promise to date.

FIRED EARTH took a big step forward on her return from a mid-season break when chasing home Maifitzs Madonna at Turtulla earlier in the month. Her conqueror on that occasion has since franked the form further by winning again at Durrow last Saturday, and that should leave her as the one to beat in a fairly open looking race. Catchmeifyoucan also made the frame on her most recent outing, whilst Quivvy Lough has a good deal of experience behind her but has yet to fully recapture her early four-year-old form.

OSCAR ACADEMY is long overdue a maiden success having finished in the first four in each of his eight starts to date. Most recently he finished third in a very competitive big field maiden at Lingstown, and with the runner-up in that race coming out and winning at Durrow last weekend, the form looks strong. Cotton Rock was only denied by a head at Tallow last month and is certainly nearing in on a maiden success, whilst My Oakclahome, and De Barley Basket are others for the shortlist.
