Track Biography:

Point-to-Point racing has a long and rich history at the scenic location of Fairwood Park, Tinahely, since 1989. Fairwood Park also plays host to the Tinahely Agricultural Show each summer which is one of Ireland's longest running agricultural show.

Jamie Codd, who is the second winning-most point-to-point rider in the history of the sport became the first modern day rider to ride all six winners on the one card at Tinahely in October 2011.

Previous track winners to have won at Tinahely include former Grade One winner Fundamentalist and Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up On His Own.

Tinahely is situated in the heart of the Wicklow countryside, the garden of Ireland. Located just an hour and half from the bustle of Dublin city, Tinahely is a pretty village in south west Wicklow that offers a variety of walking opportunities and a gateway to the beautiful Irish landscape.

BLUEY has not returned in the same form as her two very promising efforts last spring but this looks a very winnable contest, and it looks an ideal opportunity for her to bounce back to form. Dazza Dancer and Locken Lady are two newcomers that would have to be given leading claims also.

Denis Murphy has a particularly good record around here and in SHATTERED SOLDIER and Skuna Bay his two potential runners look to have the pick of the previous form. The former may have only got to the first here in October, but he put two consecutive falls behind him when keeping to take a fair fifth at Lingstown. That should stand to him.

Some Man is a previous course winner, but he has not been seen in competitive action for well over a year and may improve for the run. Special Prep had the reopposing Stranger Danger behind when winning at Lingstown before Christmas and both are likely leading players once again, but SOMPTUEUX could be the one to side with as he also won first time out in Bellharbour last season.

RYEHILL opened his account in a big-field maiden at Oldtown last February, in a race which has since produced three subsequent maiden winners including the point-to-point bumper victor Flemensface. If primed for this, he has the form in the book. Clashill brings more recent form having won his maiden at Portrush, and the well-related son of Ocovango, who is out of a half-sister to the likes of Thisthatandtother and Carlingford Lough, is the main danger ahead of Lord Desart.

The 87-rated hurdler ELUSIVE TOUCH has switched stables since disappointing at Leopardstown nearly two years ago, and if able to overcome that lengthy absence, this is a very winnable race for her. Worth The Walk has a similar absence to overcome, and like the selection has a previous placed effort to her name.

TOTTENHAM GREEN had a busy end to last season, but he showed plenty of promise finishing within two lengths of the now three-time track runner-up Cleatus Poolaw at Fairyhouse in April. A reproduction of that performance on his seasonal re-appearance would certainly leave him as the one to beat. The likes of Coothill, Class Award, and Creegh Native have all been knocking on the door and are sure to be in the mix once again.
