Track Biography:

Quakerstown Point-to-Point is run under the auspices of the Co Clare Hunt. The track is based at Quakerstown in Boston, Co Clare and is set against the backdrop of the majestic Burren.

Quakerstown has proved to be an excellent source of young talent in recent years with Cheltenham Festival Grade 1 winner, Champagne Fever starting his career with a win at this meeting in 2011.

Another exciting young talent to come from this meeting was Bacardys who went on to win the Grade 2 bumper at Aintree and the Grade 1 Deloitte Novice Hurdle in Leopardstown in 2017.

The 2016 meeting also saw the exciting Next Destination land the four year old maiden and he is now a multiple Graded winner over hurdles including a Grade 1 at Naas.

Things did not look to go to plan on debut for IN LIMBO at Tattersalls but he was still able to finish third and beaten just under five lengths to suggest that with a more straight-forward journey, he could be the one to side with here. Moonset was not beaten too far at Lougbrickland in a race that has already produced two placed horses, whilst Captain Butler, Scandisk Park and Fralimonti Bilbery are others for the shortlist.

Donnchadh Doyle has had three winners and two unlucky late fallers from his last five runners which all points to a stable in top form of late and FROM THE CLOUDS could continue his good run of form. He finished a very creditable third to a 200,000stg maiden winner in a point-to-point bumper at Fairyhouse recently. That race fitness could give him the edge over the returning Asian Master who bypassed a recent engagement at Turtulla having finished second to an ex-Doyle running in Fact To File on his debut at Ballharbour in February. Jeteye and Buachaill Galanta are next best.

David Christie has dominated the winners division in recent weeks and in GLOBAL ASSEMBLY and Ultimate Optimist he would look to have a strong hand in this, with pair having both won impressively on their respective latest starts. Rockys Howya beat the subsequent winner and potentially reopposing Clonmeen at Rathcannon last time out and represents another in-form stable, with Garcon Dargent a notable last-time out maiden winner to consider.

COOLEENYMORE finished third in decent looking maiden at Turtulla recently on her debut and could step up to take this on what would be just her second start to date. Miss Drussell is more experienced but has not run since finishing third in a small-field maiden at Ballindenisk in January, whilst Finding Fame and Sarah Jane would look to hold place claims.

Some Are Lucky has seemed to start the season as good as ever posting two 24-length victories from each of his outings this season, and he could certainly put it up to some more recent track recruits. The Storyteller narrowly held off Its On The Line in a similar race at Ballycrystal whilst Dylrow can step forward from his close third at Kirkistown on what was his first run for over a year. However is ANNAMIX who is the big eye-catcher for what would be his stable debut and first start in this sphere as he finished third in the Topham off a mark of 154 in April.

If not inconvenienced by the quick turnaround LOVE THE WEST could be the answer to this as he finished a fine second at Moig South last Sunday on what was his first run since February. Royal Finesse came home well at Tinahely and is entitled to hold claims alongside Worth Presenting who is rarely out of the placings.
