Track Biography:

Formed in 1825, The Iveagh Foxhounds hunt is a famous hunt that has its place in Baily’s chronology of master ship. The Iveagh hunt hosts two point-to-points during the season, an Autmun fixture and a Spring fixture.

There has been many notable performances over the years at the Iveagh hunt santioned race meeting, Grade One winner Roi Du Mee made his only point-to-point appearance at the fixture when he won in October 2016.

Our point-to-point is nestled in the beautiful Northern Ireland countryside and is a perfect day out for all the family.

The Colin Bowe team have had a horse finish in the placings in each of the five four-year-old races run this season including three winners in the division and whichever of their quartet of potential runners appears here is sure to attract plenty of attention. On previous form, DONT WALK AWAY, who although a beaten favourite at Oldcastle a fortnight ago, brings the strongest form to this ahead of fellow Wexford challenger Heritier De Sivola.

Barring an error at the last, CARLOTALIN could well have opened her account at Oldcastle recently and compensation could well await here for the grey mare. Rucinski took a notable step forward on her return at Monksgrange and should not be too far away if continuing in that vein, whilst Psalmninetyone and Some Woman are other contenders.

The Mick Goff-trained HOWDY PARTNER kept on late to finish third behind two more experienced rivals on his debut in a Bellewstown bumper during the season and would certainly seem to be suited by the step up in trip for this on his first start in this sphere. Calvic ran well for a long way at Monksgrange on his introduction a fortnight ago and is sure to have improved whilst Garm Colombe has changed stables since the last of his six runs on the track and the ex-Paul Nolan track horse has a hurdle mark of 105.

REWRITETHERULES could have the fitness edge over some of his rivals in this as the former Punchestown Festival winner finished a fine second on his return at Monksgrange two weeks ago in the first open of the new season. Chief rival Dylrow missed much of last season but the former conqueror of Billaway did post a fine effort when fourth in the Champion Hunter Chase towards the back end of the season, whilst Creadan Grae, who gave way on the final circuit on his return at Castletown-Geoghegan last Sunday, should be capable of an improved display.

The Caroline McCaldin pair of Faith Loving and DUKEHILL both come here off the back of absences, but they both have eye-catching profiles, with the latter having chased home last weeks Castletown-Geoghegan winner Ballydam in a maiden at Necarne last September. Despite disappointing on his only subsequent start, he has the form in the book to take this if bouncing back to his best. Hollybank King has long been knocking on the door of a breakthrough success, coming second to a subsequent open winner at Tinahely 11 months ago. Having made the placings at Wexford during the summer, he is an obvious threat alongside pointing debutant Suil Alainn who comes here with a hurdles mark of 94.

SALSA DAVIS battled well to make a winning debut at Punchestown at the end of last season and certainly has to be interest given that she returns for the same connections here. Sofias Castle is already proven in winners company, however he form tailed off through last season which may leave the recent Oldcastle victor Subtle Robin as the chief danger.
