Track Biography:

Point-to-Point racing has a long and rich history at the scenic location of Fairwood Park, Tinahely, since 1989. Fairwood Park also plays host to the Tinahely Agricultural Show each summer which is one of Ireland's longest running agricultural show.

Jamie Codd, who is the second winning-most point-to-point rider in the history of the sport became the first modern day rider to ride all six winners on the one card at Tinahely in October 2011.

Previous track winners to have won at Tinahely include former Grade One winner Fundamentalist and Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up On His Own.

Tinahely is situated in the heart of the Wicklow countryside, the garden of Ireland. Located just an hour and half from the bustle of Dublin city, Tinahely is a pretty village in south west Wicklow that offers a variety of walking opportunities and a gateway to the beautiful Irish landscape.

A close relation of the American Grade 1 winner Portrade, the Sean Doyle-trained BALLINRAN looked like he was set to run a big race at Ballycrystal before a notable error two-out halted his progress. He could make amends here. Of the Colin Bowe entries, the well related Goguenard ran a respectable race to finish fourth at Rathcannon, whilst Hello Judge finished fifth at Monksgrange.

MISS MCGUGEN could be set to run for the third week in succession, and having chased home a smart looking mare at Lisronagh last Saturday, she would look to hold the strongest piece of form if able to follow that up with this quick turnaround. Jackie Daniels has shown signs that she is coming back to the form that saw her narrowly denied at Lingstown 12 months ago, and is the big threat, whilst Gallopongray is another that has seen plenty of action recently and is typically there or thereabouts.

MORTLACH twice finished placed in bumpers for Paul Nicholls and would have to be a very interesting prospect for this on his first start in this sphere for Sean Doyle. Pay The Piper is rarely out of the money and would be deserving of an opportunity, whilst Dr Shirocco who ran well here last month, and Presenting Jeremy and Robinstown are others who enter this with placed form.

SOME MAN was mightily impressive when winning at Curraghmore on his seasonal re-appearance recently and he could be tough to beat here. Stable companion Eddies Miracle is one of two former champion pointers that could feature in this with Kruzhlinin not seen in competitive action since recording his 13th open success at Ballingarry in June 2019. Of the others, Rewritetherules was no match for Mighty Stowaway here recently, whilst A Rated is better than his latest effort following his Loughrea victory.

DOWER CAVES made eye-catching progress to finish a staying on second at Curraghmore on his first outing for current connections, and he could be the one to get his head in front here. Local Rogue has had to settle for the runners-up spot in each of his last three outings, including around here last month, whilst Michaels Pick, Hollybank King and the mare Jackie Daniels are all contenders in what is a small but select field.
