Track Biography:
Kildorrery race committee provide an ideal family day out in a picturesque setting with everything close to hand.
Holding their first point-to-point in 1939, races moved to its present venue in 1979. We have been lucky to have been involved in the build up to Cheltenham races in recent years with our meeting being held on the last Sunday to qualify for the Foxhunters. We also hosted a Cheltenham racing press day in 2004.
Notable horses that ran here include Scorpiancer who won his five-year-old maiden on his debut for Eugene O’Sullivan before going on to win the Foxbrook Champion hurdle in the USA.
Other horses of note to have ran here include Monty’s Pass who won the 2003 Aintree Grand National.

By Road
N73 from Mitchestown to Kildorrery- turn left in Kildorrey village.
N73 Mallow to Kildorrery-turn right in the village.
Fermoy N8 to Glanworth- follow the road to Kildorrery. At Rockmills village the racecourse is on the right hand side.

We have free parking for spectators and sections that can be used to facilitate disabled parking with clear views of the track.
We have baby changing facilities and a number of portaloo’s.
In our bookmakers ring you can view and bet on any off-course races on the day in both England and Ireland.

Our outside food caterers are located beside the parade ring and bookies and they sell an array of hot food options such as burgers, chips, sausages and chicken goujons.
Also if you would like a treat during your days racing we have a sweet stall in attendance.
All patrons are welcome to pack a picnic style lunch to enjoy during the races.

Race goers can purchase teas, coffees and soft drinks from our outside catering outlet.
No, we do not have an official dress code however we advise our racegoers to dress up for the weather so that the day can be enjoyed to the full.
Dogs are very welcome, but need to be kept on a lead at all times.
Yes, we welcome visitors to bring their own picnics or refreshments.
We have an art competition and numerous novelty children races with medals and prizes to the winners.
No we do not provide an ATM so we recommend that you make a stop in the nearby village of Kildorrery on your way to way races.

We have an abundance of attractions for younger racegoers including an art competition and the popular children’s novelty races of welly throwing and egg and spoon races.
For dog lovers there is a dog show with numerous different classes including a rescue dog class.
Also as an added bonus for parents all children U16 have free admission.

ANOTHER COPPER put in a career best to finish a fine fourth at Ballyvodock earlier this month on what was just her second start and it would not take much improvement for her to get her head in front. Getaway Totherock was second at Templencarriga and is one of a number of contenders that includes Maifitzs Madonna and West Vintage, a horse that had looked the likely winner entering the home straight at Knockanard last Sunday, only to stop to a near trot before the last.

The Peter Flood-trained ENJOY DALLEN did not enjoy the most straight forward of passages over the course of the final mile on his debut at Ballinaboola recently, but still finished a fine second and can improve here. Philip Fenton was only narrowly denied in a similar race at Knockanard last week and he will be hoping that Groody Rover can improve upon two consecutive third-placed finishes to get his head in front in this. Champions Hill has somewhat lost his way since finishing third at Dromahane last March, but offered early promise, whilst Calling Arc was third over Christmas.

HONEST TO GOODNESS is long overdue a maiden success of her own as she has made the frame on no fewer than nine occasions, including finishing runner-up in the last two renewals of this race. She was running a fine race on her first start for 12 months before unshipping at the last in Cragmore. That should have brought her along nicely. The twice-placed Barrack Hill and recent Boulta third Celine Soprano are the obvious alternatives, whilst Doyen Bay is an 80-rated handicap hurdler.

PERPIGNAN is unbeaten this season as he seeks to bring up the hat-trick following quite comfortable victories at Bellharbour and Oldtown already this month, but he would face his toughest test here if the mare Givemylovetorose was to line up in opposition. She is a three-time winner this season and defeated geldings with a wide-margin victory at Cragmore. They are two very smart horses. Bright Rhett foiled a gamble when winning at Ballyvodock, whilst Slemish is back from a spell on the track and missed most of last season which would be a concern.

MORNINGSIDE could be set for his first outing in older maiden company and this should see him as the one to beat having finished in excess of 25 lengths in front of two subsequent maiden winners when second on his most recent outing at Boulta in December. A reproduction of that run would leave him as the likely winner. Kildrum was well-beaten when last running in a Tipperary Hunter Chase but does have form against Press Conference from a four-year-old maiden, Doran The Legend failed to land a gamble at Ballyvodock, running well nonetheless, whilst Cotton Rock and Jean Lecroix are others capable of a big run.
