Track Biography:

Ballyarthur point-to-point racing provides a fun day out for family and friends in the Irish countryside, where you will get to witness the future stars of the racing industry make their introduction into competitive racing.

This year Kilworth & Araglen point-to-point returns their 2016 course at Ballyarthur.

Located a stones throw from Fermoy town, racing is sure to bring a great crowd and promises to be a fabulous day racing !

How To Get There

From Cork

Take the N8 out of Crok city and get on the M8 towards Dublin/Fermoy. Follow the M8, take exit 14 from the M8 on to the R639 to Fermoy/Kilworth. Before the Amber Station take a right (L1512).

From Dublin

Take the N7/N8 out of Dublin towards Limirck/Cork. Follow M7 & M8 towards Cork. Take exit 14 from the M8 on to the R639 to Fermoy/Kilworth. Before the Amber Station take a right (L1512).

By Air

Our point-to-point is located forty minutes from Cork airport and an hour and a half from Shannon airport.

Combined with extensive free parking we have a clear viewing track that allows race goers to get as close to the action as possible.

We can also provide disabled parking on the day if racegoers inform one of our parking stewards on their way into the point-to-point.

In our bookmakers ring you can view and bet on any off-course races on the day in both England and Ireland.

Food

Our outside catering providers will have a range of delicious offerings available to ensure you do not go hungry on the day !

Beverages

We are delighted to announce that we will have a gourmet coffee van serving everything from Americanos to Lattes to a perfect cup of tea, all you need to satisfy all your caffeine cravings.

Our outside catering will have a range of soft drinks and water.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE FOR POINT-TO-POINTS?

We don't have a dress code but do recommend suitable clothing and footwear. Perfect excuse the get the wellies out!

Absolutely, we encourage it. Just make sure they are kept on a leash at all times.

Our race meeting is a great location for a picnic from the boot especially if the weather is kind to us.

At our point-to-point, we are lucky to have wide open spaces for children to play in a safe environment.

We don't have an ATM on site but Fermoy is our nearest town which is located a short walk from the track.

Amenities

Ballyarthur point-to-point races is the perfect day out for all the family. Just a short walk from Fermoy town meaning a day at races is accessible to one and all. And for those travelling from further afield we have free carpark.

This Sunday is Mothers Day and in celebration, all ladies go free ! Under 16s also have free admisson.

If a great day outdoors in the Irish countryside is not enough, we will have pony rides to kepp the little ones entertained. Also, weather permitting there will be a bouncing castle !

The daughter of Yeats has posted two very consistent displays of late, beaten by less than two lengths at both Kilfeacle and Nenagh. The Robert Tyner pair of Direct Image and Natural Fit both have a second place to their names, Some Bite was the only newcomer when she made her debut against more experienced types in the autumn and can be expected to have improved, whilst Valcourt was unlucky last weekend, albeit in hunt company.

LIFEISAHIGHWAY bounced back from a disappointing display at Dungarvan when he chased home a smart sort at Borris House recently, and as the pair pulled nicely clear, he is the one to beat if running here, having also been entered in Ballyragget. Stable companion Normofhtenorth was second recently at Tyrella, whilst De Hollow Man has plenty of experience which will stand to him.
