Track Biography:

The point-to-point course is located at Loughanmore, Dunadry near Templepatrick.

Our landowner, Wilson Dennison has owned and produced a number of top-class national hunt horses including graded winners Yorkhill, Shaneshill, and Bellshill.

Our point-to-point is proud to have launched the career of many talented young horses who have gone on to make six figure sums at the horse-in-training sales in both Ireland and the UK.  Some of the leading names include the Cheltenham festival winner Ted Veale and the Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up Truckers Tavern.

Its reputation as one of the premier tracks in the country, ensures that is has a particularly strong recent roll of honour, with the four-year-old maiden that is run at their Easter fixture really standing up to the test of time.

How To Get There

By Road

From Belfast– Take the M2 to the international airport exit. Turn left to Templepatrick and take the third exit off the first roundabout. Once you pass the Hilton Hotel take the first road on the left.

By Air

Loughanmore point-to-point is located 15 minutes from Belfast International airport and 25 minutes from George Best airport.

Facilities

One of the real attractions of point-to-point racing is the opportunity to get up close and personal with future stars of Irish horse racing in a relaxed and family friendly environment.

Combined with extensive free parking we have a number of natural and man-made banks to help with viewing. As the parking is in the centre of the course you are never too far from the action. This also provides an ideal spot to enjoy a picnic while you enjoy the racing with a brilliant view of the whole track.

Disabled parking and toilets are provided at the track which allows all race goers to enjoy their days racing.

In our bookmakers ring you can view and bet on any off-course races on the day in both England and Ireland.
 

Food

Our outside food caterers are located beside the parade ring and bookies. They supply a variety of tasty hot foods such as burgers, sausages and chips.

If you would like to satisfy your sweet tooth we have a doughnut stall and an extensive sweet and chocolate stand that sells a selection of delicious goodies. There is also an ice cream van in attendance on the day.

Alternatively, why not come along early and enjoy a picnic before the action gets under way or take a break midway through the day to refuel from the boot of your car.

Our extensive car park is the perfect location to relish the atmosphere of the races whilst entertaining friends and family.

Beverages

Race goers can purchase teas and coffees from our special coffee cart that sells a variety of popular coffee options.

Soft drinks and juices can be purchased from our outside catering outlet.

If you would like something a little stronger to keep you warm during your days racing, alcohol can be purchased in our on-course bar.

Is there a dress code for point-to-points?

No, we do not have an official dress code we just advise our race goers to stay warm and dry for your days racing and to prepare yourself for all types of Irish weather.

Dogs are very welcome, but need to be kept on a lead at all times.

Yes, we welcome visitors to bring their own picnics or refreshments. We also have a range of catering options on course if you don?t fancy packing a picnic for the day.

At our point-to-point, we are lucky to have wide open spaces for children to play in a safe environment.

No we do not provide an ATM so we recommend that you make a stop in Templepatrick on your way to the races.

Amenities

Loughanmore point-to-point is the perfect day out for the family in Northern Ireland countryside and as an added bonus for parents all children U16 have free admission.

As our spring fixture is held over the Easter holidays, our point-to-point offers the perfect location for a weekend away with the family. We are located less than half an hour drive from Belfast city and Belfast port which makes it extremely accessible for visitors to combine a city break with a day out in the countryside.

The award winning Hilton hotel is situated only five minutes from the track and along with a superb golf course it also has a luxurious spa to experience.

BEYONDAPPROACH was not set an easy task on her debut, as she was pitched in against geldings at Tinahely last month and she created a big impression by finishing a close second, just two lengths adrift of The Hollow Chap. She could be tough to beat if repeating that run. Fellow Wexford raider Little Light would seem the obvious danger as she was sure to go close before falling at the final fence at Horse & Jockey recently. That pair bring some strong form to the race.

The pair were separated by just two lengths on that occasion and there may not be much between them here. The well-bred CONNARD, a horse that cost six-figures as a three-year-old who is a full-brother to Graded winner Wounded Warrior, offered promise with his debut at Mainstown in the autumn and it would be no surprise to see him go close. The Colin McKeever pair of Skyhill and Mymilan both made the placings on their latest outings. Of the others, Five Gold Bars was sent off favourite for his debut at Oldtown when falling at the halfway point, as too was Dessie Deschamps, who also came down at Tyrella on his first outing.

A very competitive renewal which could pit Longhouse Music against MILAN DANCER. The latter, who has course form to her name having won her maiden around here in October, could be the one to side with, owing to the line of form with Carrignagapple. She got within one length of him at Ballindenisk, whilst Longhouse Music was five lengths behind him at Ballinaboola a month later. Bloodstream has a defeat at the hands of Longhouse Music to avenge, but she did beat Sliabh Mhuire Lass by 20-lengths last time out and comes into the race in good form.

The grey Martaline gelding THATSY made all the running at Lingstown earlier in the month in a four-year-old maiden, and that form should be more than enough to see him double up here. The lightly raced Manetti could not get the better of the mare Longhouse Music at Tyrella just under a fortnight ago and would seem to be the main danger, whilst Alpha Male chased home his stablemate Enniskillen in the Farmers race at Punchestown.
