Track Biography:
The Mid-Antrim Hunt was formally set up in the 1870’s as a harrier pack, although it was in existence for at least a hundred years before that. It was believed to have had its first official meeting in The Thatch Pub in Broughshane in 1875.
The Mid Antrim point-to-point Course is just outside Moneyglass very close to Toomebridge. Toome or Toomebridge (from Irish: Tuaim, meaning "tumulus"), is a small village and townland on the northwest corner of Lough Neagh in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Moneyglass was at one time home to Malachy McCourt and his family who was the father of Frank McCourt, author of Angela's Ashes, a winner of The Pulitzer Prize, the NBCC Award, The LA Times Award and the Royal Society of Literature Award.
Champion National Hunt jockey and 2010 BBC Sports Personality of the Year winner, Tony McCoy, who received an OBE in 2010, was born in Moneyglass.
Another sports star reared in Moneyglass was world famous Rugby Union player Willie John McBride who capped for Ireland on 63 occasions which includes 12 times as Captain.
How To Get There
Raceview Rd going left to right is the way you will come in from the A26 which is off the M2. Access to the course if from the Caherty Road, and cars will approach from off the Woodside Road, and Lorries and Horseboxes by driving through Broughshane turning right at the Yellow Slemish Tavern and then first right again onto the Caherty Road.
Directions to the track
Coming in from the A26, Horse boxes and lorries will be asked to approach the track by driving through Broughshane, and cars will turn off left just before the entrance to the village.

The Colin Bowe team were the yard top follow in the four-year-old maidens last weekend winning four of those race across three days and of their horses entered in here both RISKY GOLD and Big Difference both have previous form to their name with the former having finished a fair fourth at Durrow on debut. Ballymoy who finished fourth in a competitive race at Largy last weekend could be the pick of the others with a previous competitive outing behind them.

Fresh from an encouraging debut at Largy last weekend, KNOCKAN RUN for Judith Hamilton could be the horse to follow in this race having finished a close second on that initial effort. Bayard De Marcigney was unable to build on his debut when well-held at Loughanmore, but this is likely to be an easier test, ensuring he is the main danger. Movie Theatre took a step forward when finishing second behind a previous winner at Loughanmore on Easter Monday, whilst Shanmullagh and Nobodydoesitbetter both finished in the placings this month and are all capable of getting involved.

LOVEFROMABOVE was slightly disappointing at Loughanmore over Easter as she was fortunate to finish second having been sent off as the even-money favourite. The Flemensfirth mare has finished placed in both starts this term for Lyle Andrew and does set the standard. The perennial second Westerner Ocean is likely to be the big challenger, with Aunt Eva, City Break is another mare to have finished placed twice this season and if putting her best foot forward here, she could figure in the shake-up.

This race is likely to resolve around the Jim Dreaper-trained CAVITE BETA who goes in search of a fourth straight victory. Having been freshened-up after his latest Courtown success, he is hard to oppose. Better B Quick and the up-and-coming mare Holycross Lito will both look to supplement victories at Largy last weekend. The latter, Sean McParlans seven-year-old could be the main danger given her progressive profile. That yard also have Some Pride entered here a horse who could make his stable debut having previously run on the track for Michael OHare.

Despite being unproven in winners company unlike some of his rivals here, BENEFIT NORTH caught the eye with the ease of his victory at Loughbrickland earlier this month and could be the one to follow in this. An early faller at Largy last weekend when sent off as an odds-on favourite, he sets the standard in this. Eddies Miracle and Freewheelin Dylan would appear to be his likely dangers. The former benefited from the fall of the selection to win that Largy contest on his first start for David Christie, whilst Freewheelin Dylan has won his last two and deserves plenty of respect.
