Track Biography:
The Wexford foxhounds was formed in 1810 at Slevoy castle.
Our point-to-point has been in different locations over the years including Wexford racecourse, Gowran Park and Lingstown before being moved to its current location at Moorefields in November 2011. We run two meetings a year, one in the autumn at Knockmullen House, with our spring fixture taking place in Ballinaboola on the first weekend in February.
Set in the heart of Co. Wexford the course is left handed with a circuit of one mile and three fences in the home straight providing many exciting close finishes.
It is a very fair track of two long straights with two gentle left-handed bends, there are five fences on each circuit which measures a mile a lap.
The track has produced many top class individuals including the likes of Envoi Allen who made a winning debut in the four-year-old maiden in 2018 before progressing to become a multiple Grade 1 winner. That 2018 renewal also saw Appreciate It finish third, and he has also gone on to become a multiple Grade 1 winner in his own right for Willie Mullins.
How To Get There
By Road
From New Ross– Take the N25 towards Wexford until you reach Ballinaboola. Turn left onto L8025 signposted for Old Ross at the Horse and Hound hotel. Follow the signs for the track from there.
From Enniscorthy - Take the N30 towards New Ross and continue until you reach Clonroche. Take the 1st left turn after the village and follow the signs for the track.

It is very hard to look past DOUBLE PORTRAIT for this contest as he chased home the very impressive Never Off Duty at Dromahane over Christmas in what looked a competitive contest, as Indian Hercules, whom he finished in front of, has since franked the form by winning in good style at Aghabullogue last month. Expect a big run from him. Lostintranslation is a well-bred individual who made a more than pleasing debut behind subsequent sales topper Cool Getaway at Tattersalls in November, and he is another very capable individual entered in this. Howitsdone, Creadan Grae, Stand Down and Leopardstown Bumper fifth Cesar Du Goet are others of note.

AUNT EVA was very disappointing when pulling-up at Kilfeacle earlier this month, however she has finished placed on three occasions in the past including at Killeagh earlier this season. Delgany Lass has progressed with each of her two starts to date and was only narrowly defeated at Tinahely last month, in the same race that Aunt Eva came to grief in whilst still travelling well. Uisce Ur brings the most experience to the race on her eleventh start to date.

The Colin Bowe-trained LACKEN BRIDGE has been in top form since the turn of the year and he would be a very deserving winner here having had the misfortune of bumping into the a JP McManus-owned track recruit in Staker Wallace at Kilfeacle last month, whilst one week earlier he had chased home Highandmighty at Killeagh. The latter has already advertised the form by winning again at Nenagh last Sunday. Fightfirewithfire would be a danger if returning to his Rockfield effort, having weakened tamely at Lingstown before Christmas, and he could be the pick of the rest.

STRIDEOUT EURO is proven at a higher level having chased home the previous Graded winner Buckers Bridge in an open at Boulta in late November on what was his seasonal re-appearance. Whilst he was never a factor in the maiden Hunter Chase at Limerick over Christmas, this might be more his level. Battle Anthem is a proven Good ground performer who has to be fancied if conditions are in his favour having finished second last Saturday at Tyrella, whilst Teds Island is a solid benchmark in these race, although he beaten a long way at Lingstown which would be a concern.

Track recruit HAWK EYE DOWN was unable to figure in ten starts under rules, however since switching to the pointing fields he has taken a notable step forward, as he was holding every chance when coming down at the final fence in a similar contest at Mainstown, before chasing home the wide-margin winner Kalanisi Express at Boulta on New Years Day. This could be an ideal opportunity for him to get off the mark. The locally trained Eddies Miracle finished fourth behind a subsequent winner at Killeagh last month, and he has been running in very competitive races of late which would see him hold chances, alongside the mare Jamies Charm who was very unlucky to come down at the last at Lisronagh before Christmas when holding leading claims.
