Track Biography:
Ballindenisk point-to-point has a long history of holding point-to-points, dating back over a hundred years. The original point-to-point races were held over a banks course in the 1890’s.
The course is situated on the farm of Robert Fell and is also used for eventing as well as having hosted European and World Championships. Set in a rural area near Watergrasshill the course is made up of volunteer racing enthusiasts which includes former jockey/trainer and Clerk of the course John O’Callaghan.
Over the years Ballindenisk has produced many top class horses that have gone on to sell for large amounts of money in the UK sales. These include Conna Castle, Native Jack, Artic Copper and Awbeg Prince.

By Road
On the N8 approximately 20km north of Cork, Ballendenisk will be sign posted from Watergrasshill, Blarney, Cork city and Midleton.
By Air
Cork Airport is only a 30 minute drive from the point-to-point.

MINELLA BEAU is closely related to the Grade 3 winner Unioniste and he acquitted himself well on debut when third at Boulta last Sunday before tiring in the closing stages, having been left in front a long way out. Providing the quick re-appearance does not leave its mark on him, he is the one to beat. Hungryhero was holding leading claims when falling at the last on debut at Corbeagh House and stable confidence will be high following a double at Lingstown last week. Back Door Johnny is next best if re-producing his debut effort.

THE BLACK ROBIN finished just behind last Sundays Lingstown winner Breezemount when they met at Rockefield, and on that form line he is very difficult to oppose having fallen at an early stage at Glenbane last Sunday. He can continue the excellent recent run of form of his stable. Dick Darsie took a notable step forward when chasing home Gurteen at Dromahane earlier in the month and if he continues to progress at that rate he would likely offer the chief opposition. Recent Glenbane fourth Robin De Boss and Corbeagh House third Barry Jack both hold place claims.

Drawn N Drank took the Hunter Chase at Fairyhouse in April when last seen, however he has form to overturn with Eala Beag on their meeting at Kilworth last term. This pair will likely be the greatest threat to the selection, whilst Not Before Eight hinted that he should not be simply dismissed when getting within 6 lengths of Marito at Kirkistown last week.

There is plenty of likeable placed form on offer here however none is as strong as FREEWAY SPACE who finished second over course and distance here in the Spring behind the mightily impressive Theatre Territory, who has since finished placed in a Listed Bumper at Cheltenham. A re-production of a performance close to that effort should see her take this on her re-appearance. Stable companions Katies Hen and Out Like That will offer the chief opposition alongside Cloneen Dream and Minmore Oscar who hold place claims.
