Track Biography:
Point-to-Point racing has a long and rich history at the scenic location of Fairwood Park, Tinahely, since 1989. Fairwood Park also plays host to the Tinahely Agricultural Show each summer which is one of Ireland's longest running agricultural show.
Jamie Codd, who is the second winning-most point-to-point rider in the history of the sport became the first modern day rider to ride all six winners on the one card at Tinahely in October 2011.
Previous track winners to have won at Tinahely include former Grade One winner Fundamentalist and Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up On His Own.
Tinahely is situated in the heart of the Wicklow countryside, the garden of Ireland. Located just an hour and half from the bustle of Dublin city, Tinahely is a pretty village in south west Wicklow that offers a variety of walking opportunities and a gateway to the beautiful Irish landscape.
How To Get There
By Road
From Dublin – Take the M50 southbound and turn onto the M11. At Junction 16, take the R772 to Rathnew. Continue on the R752/753 where the track will be sign posted.
From Waterford – Take the N9 until junction 5 where you need to take the N80 exit for Carlow/Rosslare.
By Air
Tinahely point-to-point is located an hour and forty minutes from Dublin airport.

MAN OF MYSTERIES stepped-up notably to chase home the hugely impressive Valhalla at Rathcannon on the opening weekend of the season, and if he can reproduce that effort, he would be in pole position to take this. Our Brian was still holding chances when coming down at the last at Largy in April, and having not had luck in running on his most recent outing, he could get involved with a clear passage. Allstar Vinnie and The Mighty Ash have both been placed whilst the newcomers are worth a market check here.

This Open Lightweight could see USUEL SMURFER make a winning return between the flags. A winner of a competitive Pertemps Qualifier at Leopardstown over Christmas, the Barry Connell-owned gelding has age on his side and was only narrowly beaten at Tramore in August. Stablemate Luska Lad has run on the opening two weeks of the season and so will be primed for this, whilst October Revolution always finishes off his races well and will be suited by the uphill finish here. Need To Know won this race last year and is another contender.

AJIJIC has twice finished placed including a narrow defeat at Dawston in May. Having proven himself in the conditions, he looks the one to beat. Imperial Trix finished a strong second at Inchdoney on his latest start, however he must overcome an absence here. Western Climate proved his ability on Good ground at Oldcastle back in April and a reproduction of that effort would entitle him to strong claims, whilst Deep Inspiration and Taxi Des Obeaux both have track form to their names.
