Track Biography:
Rathcannon point-to-point has played host to many Hunts over the years and more recently to the Limerick Foxhounds & the Limerick Foxhounds Bruff point-to-point committee.
Many talented riders and horses have graduated from the Limerick Foxhounds point-to-point both when racing on the past venues and presently at Rathcannon.
The track itself is a left-handed course and has been in operation since 2008.
Our race meeting is situated just 40 minutes from Limerick city and just half an hour from the scenic town of Adare, making a trip to Rathcannon point-to-point part of a perfect Family Sunday.
How To Get There

By Road
From Limerick, take the M20 and at junction 5 exit onto the N20 Cork/Croom road. Stay on the N20 until you reach Banogue at which point the point-to-point will be sign posted from there. The race track is two miles from the village of Athlacca.
By Air
Shannon Airport is a 45 minute drive from the point-to-point.
Cork Airport is located an hour and twenty five minutes away.

PRODUCT OF LOVE is also entered at Toome on Saturday and whichever engagement connections choose to take, he is the clear selection for following a fine second at Inchydoney last season. Colin Bowe is well represented and whichever runner he chooses to send here is sure to be of interest with both Ballycrystal and Land League holding form to their name, whilst Thinking Out Loud is sure to progress from his debut fourth last season.

FIRMOUNT GENT was second in a pair of Hunter Chases in Spring 2014 including a narrow defeat at Tipperary and following a lay-off he showed a fair level of form to finish fourth in a Beginners Chase during the Summer. With fitness on his side he could hold the advantage here. Skip A Beat Kid and Teds Island are proven at this level and are the clear alternatives, whilst Scoop It and Carry On Asian look to be the best of the last-time out maiden winners who step-up in grade here and cold get involved.

SAM DUBH is the only runner with previous placed form having finished third at Stradbally in May on debut. With progression likely, he has the strongest Points form in this. Flabello has an interesting profile on his first start for Willie Codd having come from the David Pipe yard where he is rated 97 over hurdles and he is sure to be worth a market check, whilst Pat Doyle has an interesting debutant in Valhalla who is from the family of Graded winner Sir Oj.

A very competitive Open Lightweight where a case can be made for many of the entrants. Fire Fighter has smart form from the track but holds an easier alternative at Toome. Just a neck separated Klassy and Slieveardagh when they met at Stradbally, whilst Syndney Paget was formerly rated 145 on the track and he is interesting on his debut for the Pat Doyle team. However the tentative selection goes to LUSKA LAD who was five-time winner last term and finished off the season in great form and is taken to kick off the new season in where he left off.

The consistent KNOCKRAHA BOSS is most deserving of a maiden success having finished third on his last three consecutive starts last season. Barn Braq showed plenty of ability to finish second on his last start at Stradbally, however that came back in May 2012. If he is able to return to that level of form he is a danger. Whilst Catch My Drift, Rockinrolldixie and Buz Barton have claims on the pick of their form.
