Track Biography:
Bartlemy Point-to-Point races are run under the auspices of the United Hunt Club.
There is a long & rich tradition of point-to-points in Bartlemy and we are particularly excited to be celebrating our 80th Anniversary at our upcoming meeting on 13th May 2018. Our course in Hightown enjoys excellent viewing for the race goers overlooking our right-handed track.
Our committee is dedicated to offering the best conditions possible for both horses and race-goers. As with all point-to-points, Bartlemy has been the starting point for many young horses careers that have gone on to be successful both here in Ireland and in the UK. Surely one of the most exciting features of point-to-point racing is to know that you could be looking at a future Cheltenham Festival or Grand National winner!
How To Get There
By Road
Bartlemy is extremely accessible being located just a 5 minutes’ drive from the M8.
From Cork
Take M8 out of Cork city. Follow M8 until you reach junction 16. Take R639 sign posted Rathcormac for 2.4km and turn right on R626. Signposts from here will guide you to the track.
From Dublin
Follow M7 & M8 in direction of Cork. Take exit 15 signposted Fermoy/Rathcormac onto R639. After travelling through Rathcormac turn right onto R626. Signposts from here will guide you to the track
By Air
Our meeting is very accessible to the international visitor as it is located just thirty minutes from Cork airport.

KALONDRA will likely be a warm favourite for this contest having finished a very close third in a competitive Kilworth contest. Having been given plenty of time to freshen up following that opening effort, he is difficult to oppose here. Both Game Puppeteer and Smart Plan were not beaten far on debut and they likely represent the chief dangers, whilst Dotties Power and Global Stage are others to note who had both shown promise on debut.

THEATRE MOLE and Savingforvegas are both doubly entered here and at Necarne on Friday. Both are potential maiden winners in their own right, however if both take up this engagement, the marginal selection is awarded to the former as she looked to be returning to the promise of her Loughanmore second at Taylorstown earlier this month before unseating at the third last. Whyso may have failed to complete both starts; however she was unlucky to come down at the last at Ballysteen and is therefore a threat, whilst Dawstown second Truckers Sally ensures this could be a very competitive contest.

FIRE AND SMOKE has plenty of experience from this season to call upon including a brace of second place finishes which may just be enough to take a pretty open affair. Our Brian was in touch when falling at the last at Largy in what was quite a bunched finish. His performance here will give an indication as to how strong that race was. Newtown Lad ran a race full of promise on debut at Dromahane last month which will have brought him on plenty, whilst a much-improved effort can be expected from Call Me Ben here having surely learned plenty from his Laurencetown third last time.

PREDESTINED has looked a progressive sort this season, and he was clearly suited by the step back to Confined company at Ballindenisk last week when finishing a commendable second. With plenty of experience to draw on, the Indian River gelding is the one to beat. The mare Carlo Way was very unlucky not to win at Ballynoe in March when falling at the last whilst in front and with the mares allowance on her side, she is the big danger. The twice previously placed Emeralds Choice has run a shade inconsistently, but if putting his best foot forward he can play a part.

FREDDIES PORTRAIT has been a mark of consistency this season finishing placed in five of his last seven starts and he was sure to be placed at Taylorstown earlier this month before falling at the last. This looks a very winnable opportunity for the Colin Bowe runner and he looks the one to side with. Cnoc Na Gcon may be without a victory since February 2013, however he has finished placed on three of his last four starts, and if bouncing back from a disappointing sixth at Curraheen here, he is the alternative to the selection. Lisnagar Star is next best.
