Track Biography:
East Down Foxhounds Point-to-Point course at Tyrella is situated at the foot of the picturesque Mourne Mountains made famous by the Percy French song.
With the 2018 Spring season, East Down will have been racing at Tyrella for fifty four years. Two meetings are held each Spring, in January and March.
Normally the first meeting of the Spring calendar in the Northern Region, Tyrella is a right handed undulating track where, given it’s close proximity to the sea and sandy soil is well drained and more often than not, produces good going.

How To Get There
By Road
From The South:
Take the M1 North from Dublin. In Newry take the A25 through Rathfriland. In Clough at T junction go right and immediately left to get to Tyrella.
From the West:
Leave the M1 at Lisburn (junction 6). Take the A1 turning off at Hillsborough. Follow the signs to Ballynahinch and then follow the signs for Newcastle. Go through Seaforde village and then Clough. At the end of Clough Main Street turn left, following the sign for Tyrell. The course is on the right after about four miles.
From the North:

ONEFORTHENURE has been placed in two fair maidens so this could well be an opportunity for her to gain the reward she deserves. Curraghmore Girl was second in a decent contest at Belclare last season but has not run since. On that form she would be a real danger however. Auntie Norma would have a chance if returning to her Kirkistown form where she finished third.

JONNIESOFA is one of the best maidens around and his runner up spots at both Dromahane and Aghabullogue look decent which will make him hard to beat here. Raise A Toast was third twice in the Autumn and comes here with form and experience which will make him the main danger. Tiger Same has two decent runs of note while Wither Ye Not on his best form is of note also. Ballyarthur ran well last season at Largy and could be best of the rest.

DRUMHART looks the classier of the two track recruits here having run well in a bumper on debut behind Ebbaziyr at Down Royal. False Prophet has track form to recommend him also and could be a big danger however. Bartons Brae and Master Jake were both second last time so must be seriously considered. Clondaw Frisby, Cant Pay Wont Pay and American Image are best of the rest.
