Track Biography:
Point-to-Point racing has a long and rich history at the scenic location of Fairwood Park, Tinahely, since 1989. Fairwood Park also plays host to the Tinahely Agricultural Show each summer which is one of Ireland's longest running agricultural show.
Jamie Codd, who is the second winning-most point-to-point rider in the history of the sport became the first modern day rider to ride all six winners on the one card at Tinahely in October 2011.
Previous track winners to have won at Tinahely include former Grade One winner Fundamentalist and Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up On His Own.
Tinahely is situated in the heart of the Wicklow countryside, the garden of Ireland. Located just an hour and half from the bustle of Dublin city, Tinahely is a pretty village in south west Wicklow that offers a variety of walking opportunities and a gateway to the beautiful Irish landscape.
How To Get There
By Road
From Dublin – Take the M50 southbound and turn onto the M11. At Junction 16, take the R772 to Rathnew. Continue on the R752/753 where the track will be sign posted.
From Waterford – Take the N9 until junction 5 where you need to take the N80 exit for Carlow/Rosslare.
By Air
Tinahely point-to-point is located an hour and forty minutes from Dublin airport.

KATIEBYRNE has been getting very close to opening her account and was unlucky at Borris last time. This could be her chance to get off the mark. Goodnight Irene was only beaten seven lengths at Boulta and is a very real danger while Subtle Sue has been fourth twice and form is well up to winning a maiden so she could be another danger. Auntie Norma has claims based on her improved effort at Kirkistown last time.

SANDFORD CASTLE was only beaten a couple of lengths at Ballindenisk last time and that form seems a little stronger and on a similar course so he is taken to open his account here. Raknruin was not beaten far at Cregg although conditions could well be very different on this occasion. An Cathaoir was not beaten far at Ballybunion so could be one to consider while Native Gamut has some form which would make him very appealing. Stowaway Splash was only beaten 7l at Rockfield which is another credible form line here. Boruing Up A Storm and Prince Of Steal both ensure this will be a very competitive affair.

CARSONSTOWN BOY was second at the Cheltenham festival but found things a little too sharp at Borris last time. He should be much more ideally suited by this course and is expected to bounce back to winning ways. Johnnyofcourse was second on his return to action recently over the cross country course at Tattersalls and could step up further for that outing although he will have to turn the form with Current Exchange who won that contest. Lookoutnow fell too early to assess at Down Royal but ran well at Glenbane before that.

LORD FINGAL looked a nice type when winning his maiden but found himself unlucky when going to the track. A return to points could see him return to best form where he would take a lot of beating. Roadie Joe is another option here as he won last time and comes here in top form. He had some fortune to win but it looked a decent maiden and he can run well here. Mr Bolt won easily at Kirkistown and may also have improvement in him to compete at winners level.
