BALLYKAN was second in the opening four-year-old race of the season at Castletown and the fourth has since won so this looks to be very reliable form where this fellow should come out on top. Native Gamut was second in a fair looking late season Ballingarry maiden and may be next best while Fingerontheswitch made a very promising debut at Tinahely and is another to note. Fagan may be best of the Ferguson quintet who are all sure to have their claims.

Kavanaghs Corner made a very encouraging Kilmallock debut last season so must be respected also. Shanroe Santos also brings track form which has to be respected.

MATTARA is a consistent and experienced sort who was third on his return to action at Loughrea and could be hard to beat here. Mr Mountain could prove a big threat as he was impressive in winning at Kinsale last season and if overcoming lack of experience will give the selection plenty to do. Serioustimes posted a fine front running performance at Castletown and should not be taken lightly either while Butlergrove King was impressive in winning at Borris and steps up here but could be above average.

VITAL PLOT ran well to finish second last week and looked as though he would come on notably for the run so will be hard to beat here even though he has to turn the form with Oscar Barton who did nothing wrong. It would be a fascinating contest to see them take each other on again. Loughnagall was impressive at Castletown but takes a big step up here so it will be interesting to see where he slots in while Boxing Along is another top notch Open horse.

NELLS APACHE has been frustrating but deserves to have his chance and is hard to oppose in any of these races. Alistair lacks experience but ran well at Tinahely on his debut and being less exposed could be a class above his rivals and this will tell the tale.
