Track Biography:
The Tipperary foxhounds are one of the oldest packs in Ireland, dating back to 1820. The pack was formed by The Bartons who reside in Grove, which is only two minutes from the point-to-point.
The Tipperary foxhounds hold two point-to-points each year on the same popular and well-appointed track in the spring and in the autumn. The track is on undulating land and can be used both right and left handed, with an extension added in 2020.
Entries traditionally are large at the popular track, giving a great day of sport with divided races. Many winners at the track have gone on to make great names for themselves including Cheltenham foxhunter winners On The Fringe and Salsify.

How To Get There
By Road
From Dublin – Take the M7 from the city and follow the road until you see signs for the M8. Turn off the M8 at Cashel and follow signs for Fethard. Three miles before Fethard you will see signs for the point-to-point.
From Clonmel - Take the R689 north until you see signs for the track.
By Air
Our point-to-point is located an hour and a half from Cork airport and two hours from Dublin airport.

We have free parking for spectators and sections that can be used to facilitate disabled parking with clear views of the track.
As we are an outdoor event that only happens once a year, many of our facilities are only temporary which adds to the real character of the event. We do of course have a number of portaloos, catering options and much more to ensure you have a very pleasant experience with us.
In our bookmakers ring you can view and bet on any off-course races on the day in both England and Ireland.

Our outside food caterers are located beside the parade ring and bookies and they sell an array of hot food options such as burgers, chips, sausages and chicken goujons.
Also if you would like a treat during your days racing we have a sweet stall in attendance.
All patrons are welcome to pack a picnic style lunch to enjoy during the races.

There are a variety of refreshments on offer from teas and coffees for the spectators looking for something hot!
For those looking for refreshments our outstide caterers provide a variety of drinks.
There is something to suit all the family!
Not forgetting the coffee lovers, why not sample the delicious coffee from the Shergar Café which also serves some delish treats.
No, we do not have an official dress code however we advise our racegoers to dress up for the weather so that the day can be enjoyed to the full. In the autumn it may be windy and wet under foot, conversely it could be a lovely sunny crispy day. In the spring the weather can be variable also.
Dogs are very welcome, but need to be kept on a lead at all times. Why not enter them in our dog show!
Yes, we welcome visitors to bring their own picnics or refreshments.
The dog show and terrier racing are some of the entertainments which are provided for the kids and everyone is very welcome to bring their own dogs, including terriers for the racing.
No we do not provide an ATM so we recommend that you make a stop in the nearby town of Clonmel which is only three miles from the point-to-point.

We have two meetings a year one in the Autumn and one in the Spring which is a great day out for all the family over the weekend.
We have an abundance of attractions for everyone including a dog show, terrier racing and a side saddle race.
Our parking offers great viewing of the track in this picturesque area of Co.Tipperary which is surrounded by Slieve na Mon and The Comeragh Mountains.
Two of the fences as well as the finish are located beside the best viewing areas so race goers can get up close to the action.
Also as an added bonus for parents all children U16 have free admission.

Gary Murphy has already saddled a four-year-old winner with his sole runner of the season so far, and EVERYDAY LIFE could continue that winning run here. She still held claims two-out when falling at Monksgrange on her debut having been supported in the market. Push Push also made a strong start to her career when only denied by a neck at Ballyknock in the spring, but she has since disappointed and is on a recovery mission alongside Jury Time.

IMPACT SUB had his supporters in the betting ring prior to his debut at Tinahely recently, and whilst no match for the eventual winner on that occasion, he did have the measure of the potentially re-opposing Lanzhou, and the run is sure to have brought him forward. Riverstown Boy also boasts a runners-up effort to his name, having finished second in a small-field maiden at Knockanohill, Oyster Cottage was still in contention when falling at Loughrea last month, and that was the same race that Jet Away Island finished fourth in.

Gino Bella also boasts previous placed form, having finished third at Loughrea, and that received a timely boost when the runner-up from that contest won easily in Tattersalls last week. Shell Be Kept has twice finished placed over hurdles this year and is another to consider on her stable debut.

HATHAWAYS COTTAGE had the measure of the potentially re-opposing Between Waters when that rival fell at the final fence at Loughanmore in the spring, and whilst the selection has thrown in a few disappointing performances, including at Necarne last time, if putting her best foot forward here, she could be the one to beat. The Great Unknown flew through the ranks last season, winning five times, including against the boys in open company at Quakerstown, which would have to leave her as a big threat.

Sam Curling could have a strong hand in this, with DEPALMA possibly the one to side with following his recent stable debut. Well-backed for his first outing in this sphere, he only found one rival too strong at Loughanmore, but would not have too much more to find. Beau Walking went close around here in the past, and has since finished placed on the track, as has Coolcullen. Gris Gris Top is another with placed form from the track, whilst Vicomte Le Brave represents a stable that has started the season strongly.
