Track Biography:
The first race meeting to take place at Bellharbour was in 1817, when the Burren races were held at the strand at Munnia, organised by Bindon Scott and Burton Bindon who also acted as stewards.
Nowadays the races in their current format take place on the first Sunday of February. The track is situated between the wild Atlantic and the majestic Burren and this makes the point-to-point in Bellharbour one of the most picturesque meetings in Ireland.
Bellharbour has proved to be an excellent source of young talent in recent years.
Dlauro, now with Joseph O’Brien won his maiden here two years ago and Gordon Elliott’s Ball D’Arc was a winner at Bellharbour in 2015 and has since gone on to perform at the highest level including 3rd in the Grade 1 Ryanair Novice Chase at Punchestown and winner of two Grade 3’s at Naas.
Winner of the Pertemps Network Final at the Cheltenham Festival in 2016, Mall Dini, also won at this meeting in 2015.
Other exciting young talent to come from this meeting include bumper winner and recent novice hurdle winner, Way Back Then and Burren Life, also trained by Gordon Elliott, a recent winner of a Novice Hurdle at Thurles and also placed in both Grade 2 and Grade 3 company over hurdles.

By Road
Enter MUNNIA, CO CLARE into Sat Nav or Google Maps to get directions to the track
From Galway/Kinvara:
Follow the N18 towards Oranmore. Follow it through Clarinbridge and Kilcolgan. Once through Kilcolgan turn right onto the N67 towards Kinvara. Follow the N67 for 20 km through Kinvara and the racetrack will be on your right-hand side.
From Ballyvaughan:
Take the N67 out of the town towards Kinvara. Follow this road for 11 km and the racetrack will be on your left hand side.
From Dublin/Limerick/Shannon Airport/Ennis:
Take the M7 to Limerick. Continue on to the N18. Follow the M18. Take Exit 15 sign posted for Crusheen. At the roundabout take the second exit towards Crusheen. Once through Crusheen turn left towards Boston. Continue on this road for 24km. Come to a t junction and turn right and then turn immediately left on to the N67. The Point to Point will be on the right.
By Air:
Bellharbour Point to Point is conveniently situated within 45 minutes of Shannon Airport. Then follow the above directions to reach the track.

Walter Connors has the well-related Caltex, who is out of a half-sister to Graded winner Impek, whilst Denis Murphy has entered Beneagles who is from the family of Grade 1 winner Liss A Paoraigh. With all of the runners making their debuts here, the market should indicate what is expected from these.

THE PUNISHER and Castle On A Cloud are both double entered this weekend and if the pair do take each other on, the marginal preference is given to the former, as he brings form from this season having finished second at Lisronagh in December. Castle On A Cloud makes his re-appearance having finished second at Liscaroll back in April and the pair set the standard. Shane Donohoe had a horse finish a strong second last weekend at Nenagh so his newcomer Rainy Day Dylan has to be respected.

STANGSMILL acquitted herself very well on debut to finish a close second to the very consistent and more experienced Lastpop at Dungarvan in very testing conditions just a fortnight ago. Providing those exertions have not left their mark on her, she sets the benchmark in this. Hillview Chloe disappointed at Tattersalls before Christmas, however a return to the form which witnessed her finish second at both Corbeagh House and Necarne brings her into the reckoning, whilst Vulgans Watch is another who was somewhat below par last time out, however she too is a capable mare on her day.

SYDNEY PAGET recorded his second success of the season at Ballinaboola last month and he ranks amongst the top Open performers around this season. B L Swagger is unbeaten this season following two facile victories at Dromahane and Killeagh and is a horse on the up. Chosen Dream battled bravely to score on his re-appearance at Glenbane where he had the re-opposing Noble Prince behind him. The latter was well held in the Hunter Chase at Down Royal last time out and so has more to find.

BIDASSE made a winning debut at Tyrella last season when taking a four-year-old maiden which has already produced two subsequent maiden winners. With progression likely to have followed since that opening effort, he can maintain his unbeaten run here. Redbridge Rudi is more exposed that the selection, however he took a notable step forward when coming out on top at Ballinaboola last month and he therefore enters the race in good heart. Our Commander is capable on his day as he demonstrated at Rockfield, whilst Giveabobback has finished third on his three latest outings and will likely hold place claims once again.

That first start of the current campaign will have brought him on and a big showing is expected from him here. Robin De Boss and Royals And Rebels both have placed form to their name, whilst Bilbo Baggins has switched stables since his last run, and has claims on his debut Durrow effort. Sudski was below par last time on his first start for a new yard, but he can get involved if re-capturing his form from last season.
